Offa’s Twisted Wye Kanter – 2023 Routes

Details of the Route, Questions to be answered and Information you may need to know

  • There are four routes (all circular) 24, 19, 16 & 13 miles.
  • Whatever route you choose to do, you need to complete by 19:00 pm

Clues, Grid References, Route descriptions and GPX files are now available below. Entrants will be emailed in March 2023 to notify them that they are available for download.

Please Note: Entrants can arrive at Walk HQ from 07:00am. Entrants will be given a tally card which has a bar code on it. This will only be used to scan you out of the hall and then scan you back in to record an accurate time of your walk. Entrants must ensure that they do not leave the hall without going to the scanning desk. It will be situated near the exit so there should be no reason to avoid it! Entrants can leave when they are ready to go. There will be no mass start on this event.

View map: to display a route, a website such as Walk Lakes can be used to display the routes on a map.
To use this website:

  • Download the GPX file to your device (if the .ZIP version – unzip it).
  • Start your internet browser and go to this link: https://www.walklakes.co.uk/
  • In the horizontal menu, select “GPS Mapping” which takes you to a map display.
  • Just above the top left corner of the map, click on the symbol with three horizontal lines.
  • In the drop down menu select “Load GPX file”.
  • In the popup window press the “Browse” button.
  • Use the resulting “File Upload” window to browse to the GPX file on your device, select it and press the “Open” button.
  • This should display the route on a map. Zoom in/out and pan/scroll to view the route.
